As part of our Nepal Highlights – 11 Days | Culture, Comfort & Adventure tour, cycling here allows you to immerse yourself in local culture and experience the real Nepal.
Like walking, riding a bike brings you closer to the people, their villages, and daily life and we take time to make sure you can enjoy every moment.
🌿 Your Cycling Adventure Awaits
Chitwan’s flat Terai terrain makes cycling accessible for everyone — no steep hills, just gentle paths winding through village lanes, community forests, and open fields. You can choose a half-day ride (3–5 hours) or a full-day adventure, either independently or with a local guide.
A typical half-day ride includes:
- Along the edge of Chitwan National Park and the Rapti River, where birds and wildlife thrive in the buffer zones.
- Through Tharu villages, witnessing traditional farming life and local homes.
- Around rural landscapes and community forests like the Twenty Thousand Lakes area, known for its waterways and birdlife.
Bikes are easy to rent in Sauraha or nearby Bharatpur, often with guided options provided by lodges. On a half-day ride, you can expect 15–25 km, depending on your pace and photo stops.
🐾 See Rural Life & Wildlife
Cycling here is about sandy paths, village roads, and riverside trails, not asphalt highways. Along the way, you might see:
- Farmers tending rice and mustard fields at sunrise or sunset
- Children walking and cycling to school
- Traditional Tharu homes and community sites that have changed little over decades
While wild animals rarely enter village streets, it’s possible to spot rhinos or deer near the buffer zones, always cycle respectfully and stay aware of wildlife.
🌦️ Best Time to Cycle
