These are government permit fees only, not tour prices. Standard park and conservation permits cost around NPR 3,000; restricted border areas like Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpo carry deliberately high fees to limit visitor numbers.
Everest Base Camp Trek
Main permit: Sagarmatha National Park entry. The Khumbu Pasang Lhamu local permit (NPR 3,000, first four weeks) is also required for the Everest region.
Covers EBC, Gokyo Lakes, Three Passes and other Khumbu routes.
Annapurna Base Camp, Mardi Himal & Annapurna Circuit
Main permit: Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP).

Langtang Valley Trek
Main permit: Langtang National Park entry.
Covers Langtang Valley, Kyanjin Gompa, Gosainkunda and Helambu routes.
Manaslu Circuit Trek
Requires the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit and the Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP); ACAP is also needed for the exit through the Annapurna side. Licensed guide and registered agency mandatory; solo trekkers allowed since March 22, 2026.
Upper Mustang Trek
Main permit: Upper Mustang Restricted Area Permit β pay per day since December 22, 2025; the old USD 500 flat fee for 10 days is scrapped. ACAP also required. Licensed guide and registered agency mandatory; solo trekkers allowed since March 22, 2026.
Upper Dolpo Trek
Main permit: Upper Dolpo Restricted Area Permit (USD 50/day after 10 days). Shey Phoksundo National Park entry also required. Licensed guide and registered agency mandatory.
Tsum Valley Trek
Main permit: Tsum Valley Restricted Area Permit. MCAP also required; often combined with Manaslu routes.
TIMS Card
TIMS requirements vary by route and agency setup. Verify before departure rather than assuming it applies to every trek.

Do I need cash in Nepal?
Yes. You must carry enough Nepali rupees for the entire day. At most heritage sites, monasteries, temple donation areas, trekking checkpoints, local ticket counters and smaller tourist attractions, international cards and digital payments do not work.
